Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season is officially in the books – which means it’s time to do some grading! The Eagles are starting to emerge as the class of the NFC East, while the Giants look like they’re about to set up shop in the division basement. Let’s take a look at how each team did in Week 3 and dole out some grades.
Philadelphia Eagles Week 1 Overall Grade: B+

The Eagles were this close to losing after going down 26-7 at home on Sunday, but they rallied back and somehow escaped with a 33-26 win over the Rams. While it wasn’t pretty, it’s hard to knock the Eagles too much as they overcame adversity and walked away with the win. The defending champs now sit at 3-0.
Philadelphia Eagles Week 1 Offensive Grade: B+

The Eagles offense had been their weak spot to start the season, but they started to turn things around a bit in Week 3. While they still only managed 288 yards of total offense, the passing attack had been anemic heading into the week, so it was promising to see Jalen Hurts put up more than 200 passing yards while A.J. Brown got unstuck with 109 receiving yards. Saquon Barkley is still getting up to speed, but the season is still young.
Philadelphia Eagles Week 1 Defensive Grade: B+

The Eagles defense looked awful through three quarters as they went down 26-7, but they tightened things up when they needed to. Despite allowing 356 total yards on the day, the Eagles still held Matthew Stafford to just 196 passing yards. While the point total wasn’t great, the Eagles defense still held up.
Washington Commanders Week 1 Overall Grade: A-

The Commanders were playing without Jayden Daniels, but that didn’t seem to matter much as they still pummeled the Raiders 41-24. Oakland scored 14 of those points in garbage time, so this wasn’t even as “close” as the score shows. The Commanders are now 2-1 as they head to Atlanta for Week 4.
Washington Commanders Week 1 Offensive Grade: B+

Marcus Mariota filled in ably for Jayden Daniels to the tune of 207 passing yards, 40 rushing yards, and two total touchdowns on Sunday. The offense didn’t look dominant, but they got everyone involved and had four players rush for 25-plus yards. Jayden Daniels looks to be on track to play against the Falcons, but Mariota showed he’s a serviceable option if Washington needs him.
Washington Commanders Week 1 Defensive Grade: A-

The Raiders 354 total yards are a bit misleading as the Commanders held them in check for the first three quarters. Tre Tucker went ballistic with eight catches for 145 receiving yards and three touchdowns, but the rest of the team was mostly held in check. The only negative for the Commanders was that they didn’t force any turnovers.
Dallas Cowboys Week 1 Overall Grade: D

The Cowboys are still 1-2, but things feel a lot worse than 1-2. Sunday’s 31-14 defeat to the previously winless Bears is going to sting for a few days as the Cowboys hold their breath for CeeDee Lamb’s MRI to come back. Things aren’t going to get much easier either as Dallas heads into a Sunday Night Football matchup with Green Bay.
Dallas Cowboys Week 1 Offensive Grade: C+

It’s hard to fault the offense too much as they outgained the Bears in total offense, but they’re not exactly blameless either, as they only put up 14 points (including zero in the second half). CeeDee Lamb is headed for an MRI after injuring his ankle, so Jake Ferguson and George Pickens will become increasingly important if Dallas doesn’t get good news back on their star receiver.
Dallas Cowboys Week 1 Defensive Grade: D-

The Cowboys, again, made an opposing quarterback look good as they gave up 298 passing yards to Caleb Williams. Dallas has now given up the second-most total yards in the league through three weeks, and their defense is looking like a massive liability. The Micah Parsons trade isn’t looking too good after three weeks of the season.
New York Giants Week 1 Overall Grade: D

It’s hard to say many good things about the Giants thus far. They’re 0-3, their offense has more or less looked stagnant outside of a big game against a bad Cowboys defense, and Russell Wilson has looked old. The 22-9 loss to the Chiefs was more of the same, and the Giants could quickly fall to 0-4 with the Chargers coming to town next week.
New York Giants Week 1 Offensive Grade: D

281 yards of total offense just isn’t going to cut it – especially with Russell Wilson throwing for less than 170 yards in two of three games this season. Rookie Cam Skattebo looked good on the ground, but he was also the team’s leading receiver as no one else managed to top 30 receiving yards. Will we see a quarterback change soon?
New York Giants Week 1 Defensive Grade: D-

The Giants held the Chiefs to 306 total yards on the day, but they still lead the league in total yards allowed on the season. While the Giants offense isn’t exactly a juggernaut, they look like one compared to the defense, which has quickly emerged as the team’s weak link. With just one takeaway on the season, the Giants defense looks like one of the worst in the league.
