NFL Bold Predictions: AFC South Week 3

Cam Ward

Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us. Each week, I’ll look at the AFC South matchups and give you a couple of bold predictions for those games. It’s divisional week as the Houston Texans travel to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Indianapolis Colts play their first road game of the season against the Tennessee Titans.

Houston Texans: Woody Marks goes for 70+ total yards

Rookie RB Woody Marks has totaled six carries and one reception over his first two NFL games. In Week 3, he’ll at least double both of those marks with 12 carries and three receptions as he leads Houston’s backfield with 70+ total yards.

Xavier Hutchinson records 60+ receiving yards and a TD

Hutchinson has hauled in four receptions on five targets for 59 yards while not finding the endzone through the first two games of the season. He’ll double his receiving yards from his first two games with 60+ in Week 3 as he finds the endzone for the first time in his three-year NFL career.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Brian Thomas Jr. held under 50 receiving yards

Thomas Jr. draws Derek Stingley Jr. in this matchup. Stingley Jr. has locked down Davante Adams and Mike Evans in the first two games this year. Thomas Jr. has struggled while catching only five of 19 targets without a TD or a 50-yard receiving game. The struggles continue as Thomas Jr. fails to hit 50 yards receiving or find the endzone for the third straight week.

Dyami Brown and Parker Washington continue to lead the Jaguars in receiving

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dyami Brown (6) catches a pass in the fourth quarter of the NFL Week 2 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Jacksonville Jaguars at Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025. The Bengals came back from a halftime deficit to win 31-27.

Brown leads the teams in receiving yards with almost double that of Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter, and has the lone TD reception among receivers. Despite Washington not being targeted in Week 1, he’s still tied for second on the team in receiving yards, and his five receptions are the same amount as Thomas Jr. They’ll finish top-2 for the team again this week with Thomas Jr. locked down and Hunter needing to help more on the defensive side of the ball.

Indianapolis Colts: Cam Bynum records an INT for a 3rd straight game

Bynum is one of two players in the NFL with two interceptions this season after picking off Tua Tagovailoa in Week 1, followed by Bo Nix in Week 2. He adds rookie Cam Ward to the hit list with his third interception in three straight games to start the year.

Alec Pierce leads the Colts in receiving yards

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce (14) catches a pass Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, during a game against the Denver Broncos at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Michael Pittman Jr. will be slowed by L’Jarius Sneed, and Josh Downs will have his hands full with Roger McCreary. Rookie TE Tyler Warren has been targeted the most by Daniel Jones, as well as having the most receptions and receiving yards. Yet, it’ll be Pierce who has had a reception of at least 36+ yards in each of the first two games, who will take advantage of the matchup with second-year CB Jarvis Brownlee Jr. for his best receiving game of the year, going for 80+ yards with a TD.

Tennessee Titans: Elic Ayomanor scores again

Rookie WR Elic Ayomanor caught rookie QB Cam Ward’s first and only TD of the season in Week 2. He’ll do so again as he matches up with veteran CB Xavien Howard, who has struggled with coverage and penalties this year for the Colts. He’ll go on to lead the team in targets, receptions, and yards as well in Week 3.

Cam Ward has 2+ total TDs

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward (1) winds up to throw against the Los Angeles Rams during the third quarter at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025.

On top of throwing his second TD pass of the year to Ayomanor, he’ll have his best rushing game and find the endzone with his feet, too. After not having a rush attempt in Week 1, Ward ran four times for only eight yards in Week 2 against the Rams. After being sacked an NFL-high 11 times over the first two games, Tennessee will allow Ward to get out and run more, and he’ll find success.
