MLB: World Series Power Rankings

Over the past week, things have changed around MLB in terms of the standings, who is hot and who is not, but one thing has remained clear. These are the teams who are built to make a deep postseason run:

1. Philadelphia Phillies

They have a terrific lineup, great starting pitching, and plenty of arms in the pen. They are battle tested and have proven to be a tough out come playoff time over the past few seasons.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers

They dont have to have the best record in baseball or even in the National League to be considered the favorite. They are a loaded roster and until someone beats them, they are the champs.

3. Toronto Blue Jays

They have been playing great baseball lately and have taken over top spot in the AL East. They have a deep rotation and get tons of clutch hitting.

4. Houston Astros

Despite recent stuggles, the Astros should get into the playoffs, and once they are there, they have shown over the past decade that they know how to win.

5. Milwaukee Brewers

They are getting amazing starting pitching and production up and down their lineup. They have been the hottest team in baseball, but can they win when it matters most though?

6. Chicago Cubs

The offense is amazing, the starting pitching has been solid, and the bullpen has settled in nicely thanks to Daniel Palencia locking things down at the end of games.

7. New York Mets

Their starting pitching has been one of the best in baseball until recently, and their lineup is great. Edwin Diaz is one of the best closers in baseball as well. They went deep into the playoffs last season, and on paper, they are a better team this season.

8. Detroit Tigers

Great rotation and getting production from young hitters. They are in complete control in the AL Central and have a very solid pitching staff. If they can maintain one of the two byes in the AL, they have a chance to go deep.

9. New York Yankees

They have played very bad baseball for nearly 2 months, yet they still hold down a playoff spot and could get hot at any time. Over the past week, they have played well and have narrowed the gap in the AL East.

10. San Diego Padres

The Padres are a very good team that can make a deep run in the postseason. Their bullpen should play a huge part in their playoff success, if they have any.

11. Boston Red Sox

Lack of pitching depth has not been an issue, and they are very dangerous offensively. They have a massive series coming up this weekend in the Bronx.

12. Seattle Mariners

Their starting pitching is solid and getting healthy, and their lineup is much better than last year, especially after adding Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suarez. They could win the AL West still as well.
