We are just over 100 games into the MLB season, and if the playoffs began today, this is how they would look:
American League 1: Detroit Tigers

The Tigers have been the best and most reliable team in the American League this season.
American League 2: Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays started the season slowly, but over the past 6-7 weeks, they have been one of the best teams in baseball and have taken over the lead in the AL East.
American League 3: Houston Astros

Early on this season, it looked like one of Seattle or Texas could win this division. Now it seems as though it’s the Astros division to lose. They have gotten great pitching from Hunter Brown, Framber Valdez, and their bullpen.
National League 1: Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers have been the hottest team in the National League and just got done beating up the Dodgers. Their starting pitching looks great, their lineup is producing, and they caught the Cubs in the Central, and now lead the NL in wins.
National League 2: Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers have one of the best rosters in the league. They should be getting some injured SPs back soon, and they are always one of the more active teams in the trade market.
National League 3: Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies and Mets have been flip-flopping in the division since the early going this season. It is a race that could come down to the final few games of the season. This is a loaded team who has been one of the best in the league for 3-4 seasons now.
AL Wild Card 1: New York Yankees

The Yankees started the season very well and held down first place in the AL East for most of the season. They went on a cold streak, though, and pair that with the Jays hot streak, and now the Yankees find themselves in a Wild Card spot.
AL Wild Card 2: Seattle Mariners

The Mariners have good starting pitching and a good bullpen. Their problem is getting consistency from their lineup. As good as Cal Raleigh has been this season, other impact players have been very hot and cold.
AL Wild Card 3: Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox have gotten better starting pitching than expected. Aroldis Chapman has been vintage Chapman and since trading awat Rafael Devers, they have been one of the hottest teams in the league.
NL Wild Card 1: Chicago Cubs

The Cubs started the season strong and have played well all year. While they just lost the division lead, this is still a very good team and they are likely to be very active as the trade deadline nears.
NL Wild Card 2: New York Mets

As I mentioned with the Phillies, they and these Mets have been flip-slopping for top spot in the NL East for most of the season. The Mets have dealt with key injuries to their rotation, and Juan Soto started the season slowly, but the Mets have gotten some starters back on the mound and Soto has been raking.
NL Wild Card 3: San Diego Padres

The final NL Wild Card spot looks like it could be an amazing race. Although the Padres currently control the spot, the Giants, Reds, and Cardinals are all within striking distance. Getting back ace Michael King could give the Padres the shot in the arm that they need.
