The 2025 regular season has concluded. This was a big season that saw records broken, and the record-setting players will be contenders for their respective league’s awards. Although the regular season is over, certain players will be headed for the playoffs and will continue their superb play. Here are the final 2025 top ten power rankings for shortstops:
1. Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas City Royals

Witt Jr. produced at an elite level in his first four seasons. The shortstop has averaged 26 home runs, 92 RBI, 37 stolen bases, and an .841 OPS. Witt Jr. is a superstar and will be one of MLB’s top shortstops and players for the foreseeable future.
2. Bo Bichette, Toronto Blue Jays

Following breakout seasons in 2021 and 2022, the past two seasons have seen inconsistent performance as Bichette has dealt with injuries. This season, he returned to form, reaching 90 RBI for the third time in his career and hitting over .300 for the first time. Health will be key for Bichette to continue consecutive seasons of elite production.
3. Elly De La Cruz, Cincinnati Reds

The 23-year-old continues to improve. His third season saw him finish with a second consecutive year reaching at least 20 home runs, 76 RBI, and 37 stolen bases. He lowered his strikeout percentage from 35% to 28%, and continued improvement can help him become MLB’s top shortstop.
4. Geraldo Perdomo, Arizona Diamondbacks

In the first season following his offseason extension, Perdomo had the best season of his career. He reached 20 home runs, 99 RBI, and finished with a .855 OPS. The shortstop is entering his prime and joins Corbin Caroll as players for Arizona to build around.
5. Francisco Lindor, New York Mets

Lindor finished a highly productive 2025 season. Over the last three seasons, the Mets’ shortstop has averaged 31 home runs, 91 RBI, and 30 stolen bases. Since 2022, he’s averaged 158 games and is the leader of the New York Mets.
6. Trevor Story, Boston Red Sox

Story stayed healthy for the first time since 2021 and played in 156 games. He reached 25 home runs, 96 RBI, and 31 stolen bases. Continuing to produce in the postseason will help Boston make a deep playoff run. If Story exercises the opt-out clause in his contract, he will be the top shortstop in free agency.
7. Trea Turner, Philadelphia Phillies

Philadelphia was one of the best teams during the regular season, and Trea Turner produced at the top of its lineup. He posted his best slash line since 2021 and reached 30 stolen bases for the third time in five seasons. As the postseason begins, Trea Turner will be the igniter of the Phillies’ potent lineup.
8. Willy Adames, San Francisco Giants

Adames’ first season with San Francisco saw him reach 24+ home runs and 73+ RBI in five consecutive seasons while posting back-to-back seasons with double-digit stolen bases. He increased his production following the All-Star Game. As the organization builds a playoff contender, Adames provides veteran stability.
9. Gunnar Henderson, Baltimore Orioles

Baltimore regressed in 2025, but Henderson continued to produce. He played in more than 150 games for a third consecutive season and was the team’s best hitter. As the team continues to develop its young players, Henderson can return to averaging 32 home runs and 87 RBI.
10. Jacob Wilson, Athletics

Wilson was headed for one of the best rookie seasons in recent memory before a hand injury forced him to miss a month of the season. He was heading 200+ hits, 20 home runs, and 85 RBI. The team moves to Las Vegas in 2028, and Wilson is one of many talented young players within the organization.
